Life After Taking The COVID Vaccines – Side Effects, Risks, And Precautions

COVID19 has been spreading without any compromise, with the new strains of the coronavirus, identified and seen spreading in the UK, US, and other countries. The healthcare officials have stated that the new strains of the virus have been contagious and fast-spreading.

The vaccine taken for those infected with the older strain of the virus has not been very effective against the new strains of the virus. So people need to be more cautious about contracting the virus.

Talking about the vaccines, only two considered to be effective have been approved so far. One from the Moderna Vaccine and the other one from Pfizer, which are two-dose vaccines.

Life After Taking The COVID Vaccines - Side Effects, Risks, And Precautions

Taking the First Vaccine and what happens after that?

After taking the first dose of the vaccine, a good immune response can be noted within two weeks of using the vaccine. So until then, you’re still prone to getting infected with the virus. So it’s necessary for you to take preventive measures to stay protected from the virus spread.

The thought that how long would the immunity from the vaccine stay has been a puzzling thought for many, although it becomes effective only after 2 weeks of taking the vaccine.

To know better, people who have taken the first dose of vaccine, in the beginning, are being tracked down, to know whether the vaccines they had taken are durable and how long are they going to be protected from the virus.  We will need to wait and see how things would work and it may take some time.

Based on the clinical trials, the vaccines were meant to protect people from the disease. What’s yet to be identified from the clinical trial is whether the vaccine has the ability to protect every individual from contracting with the SARS-CoV-2 or not.

It’s also unclear whether the vaccine can protect one from transmitting the virus to another individual. This has been an important fact to consider and only time can help us come to a conclusion knowing what the virus exactly is.

Not understanding what the vaccine actually does, life is going to be crucial even after taking the vaccine. What we need to know about the vaccine is whether it will stop the virus from infecting us or will it end the virus infection and transmission to a second person.

All we need to continue doing is to take preventive measures and stop any spread of the virus to a  second person and stop getting it spread.

Second dose Vaccine and everything about it

When you take the second dose of the vaccine, your immunity response will be boosted, forcing the immunity level to remain stronger. The second dose vaccine is considered as an immunity booster and when compared with the first dose, this one is more effective and keeps the virus away from entering your body.

Talking about the second dose of the Pfizer COVID vaccine, you need to take it 3 weeks after the first one is taken.

But if the Moderna vaccine was taken as your first dose, the second dose needs to be taken after 4 weeks.

After taking the first dose, either from the Moderna or Pfizer, it would be easy for you to know what you have to take next. Your record will show you what manufacturer’s vaccine you took earlier and follow using the same brand to ensure a safer immunity boost.

Even if you miss out on the second dose vaccine through a delayed vaccine supply near you, then that’s not worth worrying about. You can take your  2nd dose of the vaccine within 6 weeks after the first dose is taken although it is not recommended at all.

The healthcare officials also said that no vaccines should be taken earlier than the recommended time. But if in case you received the vaccine 4 days earlier, then there is nothing to worry about and you won’t have to restart your vaccination series.

Wearing a mask after both your doses of vaccine is anyhow still important so that you can avoid any spread.

Vaccines and their Side effects

Taking the first shot, you might go through pain in your arms, body aches, headaches, tiredness and have a fever for a couple of days.

But the probability of more side effects is to occur after the second dose of vaccine is taken. But that doesn’t mean you have COVID-19, instead, it shows the immune response of the body against the vaccine.

Other Risks

Even though the vaccine is used to prevent any spread of the virus, there is no proof that the vaccine can be used by people of every age group. When you think of children, no evidence proves that children are allowed to take the coronavirus vaccine to protect themselves from the spread of the virus. So children are at a great risk than any other category because they are not allowed to take a vaccine. This will risk them from contracting the virus and can spread the virus to other people. So whether you have taken the first dose of the vaccine or not, children are at risk of contracting or transmitting the virus to the other members of the family.

Another important thing to consider is the shortage of vaccine supply in some parts of the country. For poorer countries, they have no choice to order the vaccine for all of their population. If in case you got your first shot of vaccine and there are many infected around you, stay at home because the vaccines become effective only after 2 weeks of taking it. So wear masks, keep a certain distance from each other, use hand sanitizers and follow every other protocol as recommended.

It’s unaware how long we will need to carry on with these rules and only time can show us the truth. Once we are assured with the hope that the vaccination procedures are well in place and people are taking the right steps in containing the virus, we can be relieved that the spread can be reduced.

Precautions

Stay at home, use a mask and carry a hand sanitizer when you go out, to protect yourself from the spread of the virus. Keeping a safe distance from the people around will be another safer solution to stop spreading the disease. These precautions are a  necessity for us to follow when we know that the virus is still being studied after the vaccinations are taken already.

Even after knowing what the virus can do to humanity, people are just not bothered about it and that’s the reason we could see a sudden surge in the number of cases around the globe. There has been an uncontrollable spread of the disease in some countries.

Continuing with these precautions will keep us all safe. If the whole world thought alike and each country laid down stringent protocols to protect their people, then that could help us end the virus spread. People must take the vaccine and stay at home to avoid further spread.
